Are Johnson and Evinrude parts interchangable?

I am just wondering, I want to convert my pull start 1961 Big Twin 40 hp to electric start, it is only pull start right now. but was wondering, first if the 1961 Johnson Sea Horse is basically the same engine? And will the parts interchange, if so, what is the equivalent Johnson Model number to my big twin, with the model number of 35023. I have not had a lot of luck in finding the Evinrude parts, so figured it they would interchange, I would expand my search, I need everything, brackets, starter, flywheel, basically the whole 9 yards. Also, what year range will work on this motor?

Thanks for any help.

Dave

Sorry if this is a redundant question, but I did try searching first and didn't come up with much.

When they came off the assembly line, the ones that started on the first pull were painted blue and called Evinrudes.

The ones that started on the second pull were painted white and called Johnsons.

The onbes that started on the third pull were painted with what was left over and called Gale or Buccaneer.
