As a Canadian i agree, bought a couple of small parts for a 2hp a while back and was able to check the US price, seems the Canadian price is reflected in US dollars but in Canadian currency (hence appearing to cost Canadians more)

So i'd say no saving..............Originally posted by maillon:
Well, I checked with a dealer and the prices seemed to be pegged to the U.S. Dollar and to the suggested retail price on the Honda (America) website. With the shipping, it was no deal.
One other thing we are finding out is that some local dealers will not do the warranty work so you have to take it back across the boder, which is ok w/me, since I am so close.Originally posted by gss036:
Lot industries do that to appease the local dealers. Same thing w/ John Deere tractors etc. I bought mine in Canada and the only thing I saved was the sales tax (about $200)for 20 miles drive, so was worth the effort. Plus I got the motor I wanted instead a single lung Kohler like my neighbor has.
