Archived threads emoji on threads that have solution or fix

While scrolling through old threads trying to find a solution to problems gets a little tiring. Reading lots of posts only to find there was no resolution or fix to the problem. Is it possible to have a little solved sticky or emoji to let people know that there was a fix or solution to threads, thanks

It's up to the OP to do that. Heck, we can't even get OP's to answer the questions asked of them in the course of diagnosing their problem.


What you can do instead of reading the entire thread, is go to the last pages looking for a resolution, if any.

That would be a good idea to have members who solved their problem to edit the thread title to add solved. And I know what you mean. They ask for help and never reply back.

Love the idea. But GA's right - pulling it off is another story.

Keep the idea in mind though. Maybe after the king's horses and men get some more of the forum put back together again, they could work on the idea.

On some forums (Stackoverflow for example) a user can select an answer etc...

That doesn't apply here.. It's a group effort and it's not always ONE answer..
So hey.... How about a button for the user to click to indicate solved!

Again relies on the poster to actually come back and click it right?

I guess that leaves what appears to be available already.
OP (if comes back and does it) to state it's solved, say how, and maybe even "Flag" that comment so Mods see it and can then mark "SOLVED" in the title, or even an emoji as suggested..

I've seen some titles edited with solved, but I've never been able to edit that myself..

I've actually wanted to edit some of mine to "Solved" in the past, but couldn't seem to do so.

Anyway, perhaps if we users see a topic has a solution, can we then "Flag" it too?
That might bring attention to get the title edited to "Solved"..

Flagging a post though has a negative connotation, as if the post being flagged is not a good thing....
Guess I'm just thinking out loud.. Sorry.. LOL

It still all comes back to the OP actually coming back to indicate that the issue was resolved for any of this to work in the first place.

And forgive me if I have any open topics..
