For christmas I got an aquaview scout underwater camera. I took it out ice fishing today and man what an experience. I was fishing 20 ft down on the bottom and saw crappies. I rigged a pole with crappie minnows and saw the fish come up to the minnow and then just leave. Next I tried eurolarva on a small ice jig. The bluegills came in and it was cool watching them mouth the bait. When they hit it there was no movement on the bobber but I was able to set the hook because I could see it in their mouths. I saw one walleye and a couple of bass. None seemed to interested in the bait or the presentation I was using. The camera looks like a small bluegill. the cable is kevlar reinforced in case a pike or musky decideds to attack it. I recommend this for anyone. I dont think they allow you to catch more fish but it is sure a blast to watch.

Your really going to enjoy that aquaview.
You will catch many, many more fish. It wont take
long to change the way you fish. These cameras
take all the guess work out of catching. You will
quickly see a pattern to what triggers the fish
to strike and what movements make the fish
weary. They are a great tool to help locate active
fish and to fill the freezer.

hmmmmmmm...Its seems that when I got mine EL that you had some Ha ha's cause I got one..I use mine to locate structure and terrain when I am in pursuit of that elusive fin..
It doesn't guarrantee a catch but it sure does take the boredom out of the picture when the fins aren't cooperating..

When we hook up at the homestead this year you now will be able to see that cargo ship that went down on the lake 90 years ago..

Btw count now at seven of those who are coming to our 3rd annual fish out in June at the homestead..

Aquaview is a lot of fun. In the past I thought I wasn't putting my bait in front of fish as the reason for a bad ice fishing day now I know that often it's my presentation because I see lots of fish. They come and check out the bait but won't take it.

Cool Beans Euro! ... did you use it this weekend?

A blast watching a perch suck your bait up then setting the hook only to see him zoom off the top of the screen. You'll have a good time w/it for sure!

saw one of the new 'gil cams at the tackle haunt and the owner says they've tested and tested with it around large predators with a great deal of success (hits on the cam that is)

Yeah I used this weekend and I dont think fishing will ever be the same. When I go out again I am planning on having all four poles rigged with something different to see what presentation and baits seem to work the best. I am in a fishing forum that has had his camera attacked by Norhern Pikes before. The camera cable is coated with kevlar and the camera is pretty heafty. Gonfishn could spend 200 for this unit and call it another one of his prized musky lures.
