I have a '94 Cobalt 272 with a set of Aqua Power 95001 Heavy Duty Docking Lights which I'm sure were cutting edge in '94.

Does anyone know of a way to upgrade them to LED. Or is there a replacement light (preferably stainless steel) that would be LED?

These things really draw the juice and aren't as bright as the new stuff. I've got a brand new ($320) top of the line battery. OEM alt., which when if fails will be upgrades to a higher output unit.

The electrical system has some things to be desired. I've cleaned up some connections and things but still come on slow and I think could/should be brighter.

There are several styles out there just need to find measurements to fit, or fabracate a trim ring to install smaller. Your look like mine and appear about the same size. For me they can only be used during docking so not used very often. Think turned mine on once 2 years ago

I would love to find a replacement LED bulb assembly that would swap out the existing bulb to achieve a brighter output and less electrical draw.

A stainless trim accent ring that would go on over the white outer edge would look nicer without replacement of the entire unit.

There are a lot of older boats out there with these lights. With all the aftermarket parts out there I'm surprised that there isn't a company offering it.

Ayuh,..... What's the diameter of the current bulbs,..??

Here's some 4.4" bulbs, from 800 to 1200 lumens,....(might be halogen)
Here's some 4.37" or 4.27"leds,....
These folks have some par 36 bulbs which probably fit yer housings,....
'n these guys no doubt have lights that could be put into yer original housings,....

Good ideas. I guess I'd have disassemble a unit and see how and if the bulb can be switch out from the internals. I was hoping someone had the light assembly that would be a direct switch out in the frame.

Found out the original had 30,000 cp! Not sure if this the old candle power rating or new. Going to be tougher to find a replacement LED with these numbers. No wonder they come on slow!

1 CP = 12.57 Lumens
If I understand correctly this would be based on (old) CP ratings. This would make it close to 377100 Lumens! These numbers make me think that the CP units being given for the light are the new CP which is closer to 1=1. Even at these numbers, to find a 30,000 Lumens LED bulb that would physically work may be tough.

Light is good but don't need aircraft landing lights. Car headlights are 2k to 4k lumens, and a boat doesn't "need" that much
