I have a aq 125 in a Bayliner 1950 Capri. I bought it with a bad exhaust manifold. I replaced the manifold and in doing so I find #4 cylinder in the head is badly corroded .
I see people are using a 'steel ring' to fix this problem. My questions are this:
#1) Any steel ring that will fit or does someone manufacture a ring for this
Problem?
#2) Also could JB weld be used to build up the corroded areas? Or perhaps
JB Weld along with a steel ring. Would a #10 strength washer work?
#3) Would a head off of a volvo car motor work, if I used Marine gaskets?
The boat is up and running right now, and it is a 1985, so I figure that it will last for sometime before it burns through the cylinder wall.
Thanks for your expertise....
John
