New to this forum and also a first time boat owner. I have experience with cars and home improvements but, never worked on boats.
-Motor ran great, idle to WOT, first few trips out. Day I noticed the the idle and slow speed sputtering I primed the motor while tilted up. Gas ran out of the cover when I did. Boat boat with @20 gal of stabilized fuel in tank. I ran out and have added prob 15 gal of fuel prior to issue. Motor appears to still run fine @ WOT.
-I popped cover and checked:
-wires and plugs: wires and plugs appear new. No build up on plugs to note.
-fuel filter: Not a speck of dirt and flowed freely when I blew through it
-Carb: Removed carb thinking was definitely a carb issue... Carb appeared very clean. No residue anywhere I could notice nor in the float bowl.
I have a comp tester but, have not tested yet. Doesn't seem like a comp prob to me...could be wrong.
Anyone have any idea how I should approach this issue further. Looking to upgrade next season but, need to get this one running so I can sell it with free concious.
