I just purchased a 1979 apollo 25' cruiser (enclosed cabin) and can't seem to find much information about it. There's only a couple Apollos out there for sale and I have yet to see one like mine. It's a volvo 280/ 350 chev. outdrive setup. Are those outdrives anygood? Is a seaworthy design? I just don't know and would appreciate any info I could get-Thanx

I also have a 25 foot Apollo, it's a good stable boat in rough water and handles well at high and low speeds... One problem I did have was water hydraulic locking the engine once when the thermostat didn't open, the engine was getting hot so I shut it down when it finally opened it sucked water in through the exhaust risers enough to lock up motor, in the process of pulling all the sparkplugs to do a compression test, water dribbled from one cylinder and ran out of 2 more. The engine turned over fine after that, I did the compression test and all cylinders were around 120 lbs ..... Everything was ok, one more thing if you live in an area that have wasps they will crawl inside the exhaust ports in the outdrive section and build a nest and that can do a lot of engine damage... So garbage bag that outdrive...
