Re: Anyone Warm-up their car?

JasonJ, I feel your pain. Yesterday Morning I went out in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt to warm up the truck, which was in the driveway not garage. Temp was -5*......I never ran so fast to get back inside before.

Gustavthe3rd<br /><br />"Bearings and clutch packs have only about .005 of an inch clearence when assemble in probably 70 temperature."<br /><br />you sure?<br />I think if you have .005" bearing-to-journal clearance, then you don't have much oil pressure...<br /><br />maybe you meant .0005"?

When using a warm up you should try to keep the RPM's up as this increases the oil pressure. The damage results from low oil pressure in cold engine does not lubricate properly.

Re: Anyone Warm-up their car?

Just had a article in the local paper about cars being stolen at day cares(leave car run, don't lock etc) and idiots going in for just a second to get something(store, pay bill etc.) and I guess none of these idiots have thought about getting a different key to keep with you and lock it up? I have heard it is too hard to get the kids in the car, too much stuff to carry etc. Been there and done that. Never let my car run unlocked <br />as doesn't take a brain surgeon to steal a unlocked car.
