Re: anyone seen the ad, "old school secret?"
came across and add on craigslist. wanting to send you a free crappie fishing secret. sure wanting to just get your e-mail for spam. any one out there know what their scam is?
If it is the same as the walleye one I looked into once, it is a light- and/or electric charge "generator" that attracts plankton and invertebrates, which attracts baitfish which are followed by game fish. In theory.
I signed up for the free "newsletter" and got a series of emails which said stuff about fishing but nothing of substance. After reading a few which had what seemed like cut-and-paste soundbites without any coherent flow I unsubscribed and dismissed the whole thing.
The theory works but you don't need to buy whatever they are selling. Maybe there is a legitimate vendor of plans or whatever for this device, but I never got to a place where I felt I had enough information to give them my credit card # nor did I ever come across an "offer" with a price- just endless links to 'testimonials' and more drivel.
My 2 cents
PS
I spent a lot of time chasing "rabbits" when I was trying to find schematics on ion-charge devices like the ProTroll. This was one of the rabbits but I never took it seriously- just was too curious. Skepticism of a New Englander and all...
