Anyone remember the Brunswick RunAbouts? I just got a 1964 Cutter/Scamp.
The boat is 13'8" fiberglass and rated up to 65Hp. The boat and original trailer are in
great shape and so are the pulley's & steering hub. I considered putting a new 50 on it
then sold myself on restoring it so i have a few questions...

I located a 68 Merc 500 with 15" shaft, I was told it was a racing motor, Is this a sick idea
for a 13'8" glass boat?

What was Brunswick's "motor of choice"? merc evenrude etc...

When I mount the motor & recable the steering, should I tension the pulley springs?
if so, about how many #'s

what were the colors like back then... the boat was originally a dark tan, and seems to have been painted white
minus one small area of the dash and 3 "racing stripes" on the bow...
were the boats 2 toned options and if so what color combo's were available.

the carpet is green and the seats are red... were there other options than this?

I know this all sounds crazy, but it just seems right to restore her to her original beauty
that and my buddy keeps houndin me to get it in the water and take him to the flats.
