Anyone overnight in the shallows of Cedar Key or C.River?

I'm just looking for a website/info on anyone who has spent the night on the gulf in the shallow areas of Crystal River or Cedar Key Fl--is it safe? Can you anchor and sleep the night through without a worry? How small of a cuddy cabin-boat is safe? I realize areas literally get "dry" at low tide, but these areas look like they are isolated enough that a single person could anchor and spend a couple days, and shallow enough that traffic would be minimal. If anyone can direct me to a website where people have done/are doing this, I'd appreciate it. I do not want to venture 5-6 miles out-a friend told me he knows of another that takes his pontoon boat out around Cedar Key and sleeps on it in a tent, very shallow, doesn't drift, little waves..?

We've spent a bit of time over that way. We never stay at Marinas, always anchor out. Our boat was a 15'11" cuddy w/ Honda 50.

I'm not sure what your concerns about safety are...but we've spent over 1,000 nights at anchor and except for the inevitable storms, have never had trouble of any kind.

I'll see if I can scare up a log entry for one of the times we were there.

I have overnighted on my pontoon in both CR and Homosassa Rivers, there are plenty of places in CR ( kings Bay ) where you can anchor, Homosassa not so till you get way back near the park and then you are still almost out from someones yard.
