Hey guys,

Thanks for any help in advance. I have a new to me 2000 formula 280ss w/ fairly new (2006) 350mag horizons (OW359452) about 250 hrs. I just bought this boat and ran it fine for about 2 hrs and then got alarm horns. Was cruising around for about 45 min then idleing around for about 2 hrs. When i went to give it gas and cruise again I got a solid alarm horn. I then idled back to marina w/ 2 beeps every minute. Things that have been changed recently before I bought the boat by a marina mechanic:

Couplers and r-bar mounts for both engines
waterpump inpellars for both engines
Cool fuel housing both engines
Shift Cables
Batteries

In addition the outdrive oil looks low which I will be filling up. I have attached the code history that I just pulled from the engine, and I have downloaded manuals 31 and 33. The boat is also presently out of the water being bottom painted. I went to run the engine on muffs today but it seems that I have 2 through hull fittings (no shut off valve)for water intake in addition to the intake on the outdrive. Because I was unsure if the water intake of the outdrive would just flow out the hull in take I didn't run the engine.

Any suggestions?

Thx

Brian

It wouldn't have started even if you did get water to it. At 11 volts, your battery is to dead to start.-

PS: if the alternator isn't working and you have low voltage while running, it's not going to run very well.

Great catch Don. Unfortunately the dead battery came after the fact. I pulled the boat out of water to get its first coat of bottom paint and had asked my friend to turn off everything while I grabbed the canvas. Long story short wasn't done correctly and killed both batteries. They are being charged as we speak. Any thoughts on the codes. I realize there are 5 of those codes that will come up under normal circumstances.

Also the engine seems to run smooth at idle w/ normal temps and all

Thx

Other than the low gear lube, the other items probably don't even exist (seldom do).
none of that really helps without the engine running and the alarm going off.

Yeah, the ones that concerned me were the

BLK PSI LO
BLK PSI CKT LO

The second time i got the alarm, I needed to run for about 5 min at cruising speed before the solid horn alarm came on. Was hoping to try and figure out something before it goes back in the water. I don't have a trailer so I pay about $150 every time I have to pull it.
Am liking the scanner software already though, just don't want to like it to much.

thx
