Not at all good to the north either, the sirens went off, scared the s**t out of
everyone. But.... we dodged a bullet once again. Except now everyone
is underwater.

My god death toll near 60 so far, Cofe were praying for your brother, and the families of those involved, horrible day....

My brother says to say Thanks for the prayer. A tornado passed 2 miles north of him causing bad damage.
He asks to keep people in Tuscaloosa Alabama in prayer. He is still trying to call some of his friends in that wiped out area. What a Horrible Storm!!

Everything is ok here at the house, but you don't have to drive very far to see some.

Death toll for 'Bama alone is 128 and 66 confirmed tornadoes in the state yesterday.


... but it was nice and warm at 83*F!

Just heard on the news nearly 200 confirmed tornado's so far and as you can plainly see the death toll continues to rise........

Have a cousin in Anniston, AL which is just east of 'Dega's Speedway. Have an e-mail out to them waiting for some news. Also, I caretake for a guy's cabin who lives in the far north of AL. Not sure what city. Have an e-mail out to him too......... Sad deal......

Death toll at 184 in Alabama and they say it will rise. It was at 168 about an hour and a half ago.

The damage is almost unimaginable. I have seen damage that severe, e.g. Parkersburg and Mapleton in Iowa, but never over such a huge area. They had an aerial shot from a helicoptor that went on for 3 or 4 minutes in which there was nothing but flattened houses and in a lot of cases, bare slabs. They said that damage extends for about 60 miles.

I was feeling a little grumpy yesterday about the continuing cold, rain and wind keeping me from taking my boat out, but I guess I'm not that bad off.

We were very fortunate in our area. Not even a limb down in the yard. Had one cell come through and pass, and then the power went out for about an hour. When it came back on, there was another cell headed straight for us. The rotation of that storm broke up as it crossed the Coosa River, so we just got more lightning and rain.

Just got off the phone with one aunt in Talladega, they're all ok. She said the other aunt (sister) in Jasper was ok, staying in the travel trailer due to no power, but no damage.

Some where not as lucky. Had a touchdown 20 miles west of here, in the Dadeville/Stillwaters area on Lake Martin. Lots of damage and hurt people, have not heard of any fatalities, yet.

Just saw the news where Obama will be in Alabama tomorrow. 162 confirmed dead.

The video of the tornado that hit Tuscaloosa is just unreal. I've never seen one that size in the south, more like the ones in Oklahoma/Midwest. Worst storm since 1974.

Bless those affected by these events. My prayers are with you....

Just heard from my cousin, they're doing fine. She said Ohatchee got hit pretty hard. I guess a friend of theirs died in that storm...... Found her in a field I guess. Hard to imagine since we have never experienced a storm of that magnitude......

Almost 300 people dead from 150 tornadoes in 6 states. The pictures are horrific.
