anyone know where to get replacement stern bracket????

i have a 71 100hp johnson. i couldn't get it to tilt up while in motion - so i tried to tilt it up & then take off. when i did, it cracked one of the stern brackets in half (it had already been welded @ crack before). should i take it to be re-welded or is there a source to get a new one???<br /><br />thanks,<br /><br />mason

856-785-9455, Barnacle Bills in S Jersey should have used one if you are just replacing the one bracket. You might ask about the whole engine mount bracket assembly for a 77 or newer. They would have trim on them, but you'd need to make sure the steering tubes are the same.<br /><br /> About every boatyard around here has used engine parts dept(junk pile) check around you'd be surprised what you can find laying around especially for old V4's. The made millions of them.
