Anyone know the make of this Bowrider please?

Hi,

Can anyone help ID the make/model and approx year of this boat? I'm looking at restoring it as a project.

The motor is a Johnson 150 OceanRunner - are these generally OK units?

Looks like a mid-late 80's Bayliner Capri. The hull ID number would help.

Bayliner - Look at the last 2 digits in the HIN for the year.

Definitly a bayliner on color alone. I hope it was free, that boat would be worth maybe $2000 in half decent running condition.

Judging by the amount of debris sitting in the boat I'm guessing it has been sitting uncovered and the floor/sub structure is all rotted.

Thanks for all the replies - yes its been sitting with no cover for 2 x years, even has weeds growing inside I'm told. Its for sale for $750 via eBay - repossed to recover storage charges, the boat yard dont know if it runs or not and the throttle controls are seized up. It also has a 10" crack in the transom (see attached pic) and a crack in the side where it was lifted with straps that were too small 2 years ago.

Does this boat have any value (doesnt have a trailer either) - guess this could be a 'write off'?

I guess the transom crack could be due to shot plywood around engine?

I cant get to see this boat as its a long way from me so I'm considering making an offer at a sensible price considering the state - what would you say its worth?

To me it would not be worth a penny unless you need it for parts. Guy selling it probabally knows that it needs to be junked but doesn't want to pay the $500 or more it would cost to get rid of it.

Boat is trashed.........

They are going to need to pay someone to tow it away.....

Best advice....... forget that one and keep looking..... check Craigslist and at this time of the year insist on water testing

Based upon the pics provided. Your stated distance from the boat and the condition of the boat in the pics. RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY.
