Anyone Know if a 05 BF225 Stores the Hours in Tach or ECM??

My LCD on my tach is going bad. Wondering if the hour information is stored in the tach or on the ECM. Dont want the hours starting over when I install a new gauge.

The hours are stored in the memory of the ecm but they will not transfer to the new guage.That may have changed in recent years but in 05 no dice.
