currently in the process of converting from surge activated drum brakes to electric/hydrulic disk brakes. Was looking at going with a weight distrubution hitch setup as well. My boat and trailer weigh in around 9500 lbs. I've seen prices anywhere from 179 to over 500 bucks for a setup rated for 10,000 lbs

Get a setup with the chain hangers for the torsion bars. Even though you're going to electric the chain ones are easier to deal with. The chain ones are absolutely necessary with surge type brake systems. Mine allows for 3" of coupler travel. (not that it really moves that far)

Might want to contact your trailer manufacturer.
Some do not want any weight distribution hitch on their trailer.
Something about the long straight tongue tube not capable of taking the bending action applied, I guess.
As most WDH's attach the bar ends on the "V" frame rails coming off the tongue tube.
