Anyone here swapped a Mercury for their Force motor using the Force transom bracket?

I've just acquired a '76 Mercury 1500 to replace the Force 120 on my Maxum 1700xr. I see that the Merc has twin hydraulic cylinders, while the Force only has one. I like the idea of not redrilling my transom, and not having to use the 45 year old Merc cylinders by mounting the Merc on the Force bracket. Anyone here every attempted this? The swivel pin housing is about a 1/2" longer on the Merc, but it should be easy to trim the housing and bracket to eliminate that difference.

I don't think anything will match up??
The 76 150, it's gonna use a LOT of gas.

Well, I've got a spare Force engine (broken) and transom bracket with the tilt cylinder and pump, so it it can be forced to fit (pun intended), I got the parts to experiment.

I agree, definitely not gonna be a gas sipper, nature of the 2 stroke beast, I suppose. I'll have my eyes peeled for a 4 stroke ~150 hp motor this winter. I only paid $300 for the old Merc., and I love the sound of the thing. Obviously, it would be best if I don't have to mod the boat much to run it for awhile.
