A friend just picked up a '76 19' Merc 888 Beachcraft runabout. He got it for only 500$. It is in good original shape. Vinyl is tacky but outdrive and motor paint is all original and looks very clean considering the age. All the anodized window frame and bow rails are uncorroded. It has a searay style hull with a walk thru windshield.

We just fired it up today. He had to clean the Rochester Carb cause gas started shooting out of the overflow but once done the motor idled and ran like a dream.

I did a search and came up with 39 mentions of the brand. Many early inquiries about the brand went un answered. Several posts mentioned they had one about the same size as this one. Some posts refered to boats as large as 26'. Beachcraft appears to have died sometime in the '80s and they may have been built in Oregon.

Anyone out there with any pictures of 18/19 footers, please post them. It's a sweet looking hull. Should be real fast.
