Anyone have an idea we're the sending unit is ? 1930sst

Hello and good afternoon looking for a little bit of help trying to get my rig ready for the lake this year last season my gas gauge would never show over a quarter of a tank I have a new sending unit a universal one but I can't for the life of me find the old one it is not under the rear cover in front of the motor I don't see it anywhere in the ski locker any ideas where it could be it's a 1997 1930 SST
