Were located just north of the Allentown. We currently own a 19 foot seapro and we just got a 268 weekender for delaware bay and some lite offshore fishing off of delaware and maryland.Just trying to find other fishing and boating places to go.Are current lake of chose is Beltzville mainly cause it's only 15 min away and no HP restrictions also trying to find other people to team up with that have more boating expereince in ocean waters then us..The 19 footer we had it in the idian river area a few times and it was kinda scary at times so we bought the 268 weekender which needless to say is way bigger and taller boat plus has onboard bathroom and galley.

I grew up down there my grandmother had a house on Broadkill Beach and my parents had a house in Rehoboth Beach and my Aunt lives on the Choptank on the eastern shore

Everybody has passed on but my aunt so i do not get down there much anymore BUt it is still the finest memory i have :D

I can still get plenty of good crab meat (my aunts friend runs the packing house) and that is allmost worth the drive

Well maybe we can hook up sometime if u don't mind.We had thought about putting in at augustine beach then go up to the c&d canal and take a cruise over to the Chesapeake Bay.I don't know if it's doable or not yet.I think are 27 footer has a 100 gallon fuel tank.Right now i have the engine out for rebuilding.

C&D is a beautiful ride at night; the Route 1 bridge is unbelievable all lit up and the water is like glass. Just gotta watch out for the big ships and barges. The place we stay at is just on the Chesapeake side of the canal at the top of the Elk right before it branches to go to Elkton and the canal. We are going down again on June 10th for the Highway Marine cruise to Jellyfish Joel's from Northeast, Md. and then we'll be down the whole week of July 4th. We always try to hit as many of the fireworks shows by boat as we can.

Do you ever take your smaller boat up to Wallenpaupack? We go there in between runs to the Bay. I used to go to Beltsville with my 20' ski boat, but the Nova is a little too much, I think. I miss the water sports though. I was thinking about getting another 18-20' outboard driven runabout. You know something inexpensive that I can hook up after work and run up to Beltsville with a few friends for a little skiing, or take my old Dad fishing in the Fall. Just gotta keep my eyes open for the right opportunity, I guess.

Anyway, let me know what your repairs schedule looks like and we'll see if we can get together. You may also want to look at the thread about Boating on the upper Chesapeake there are some people from our area who responded to that one as well.

What is the best way to get to lake Wallenpaupack?? Heard of it never been there. This past weekend there was a 30 footer at Beltzville. They were achored in one of the back coves all weekend long. There seems to be alot of big boats hitting that lake lately.that's where were taking the new 27 footer to once the engine is done to get use to how she handles. Going from a little 19 footer bayboat that i can launch and retreive myself too a BIG boat that will probably require 2 people to launch and retreive cause there is no way i'm reaching over the bow to get at the winch and cable. So i'm sure i'll have alot of learning to do..

They must've been "fishing" because you're not supposed to overnight at Beltzville.:D To get to Wallenpaupack we go across 80 to 380 and get off at the first exit (940?) that runs you down to 611 where we go straight across and it becomes 196 we follow that to a 6 way intersection where we bear right, it's a short downhill run that merges into 115 that then merges into 507. A few miles further up 115 and 507 separate and we stick to 507 on the right. The bottom launch of the lake is a couple of miles up to a left hand turn at the sign for Ledgedale Recreation Area which is on the right another couple of miles down the road.

When you get ready to go to Beltzville, give a shout, if time permits I'll run the boat up and meet you there. Maybe I can help you out with launching and retrieving, if you want.

No problem. I might even be coaxed into going up during a weekday. Are you thinking after work, or taking a day off? Or are you one of those lucky retired folks? If it's after work I probably won't run my boat up there, it'll take me 40 minutes to an hour to get there if I do, whereas I can get there in about 20 minutes without it. The hassle and gas isn't worth the time on the water. But I'd still come up and lend you a hand, no problem.

Sounds good to me, you've got a deal. Just give a shout to let me know when and I'll be there.
