And Canada wins. 9:30 minutes into OT. US was the aggressor in OT, but Bennington, the Canadian goalie did an amazing job and US found themselves a little out of position when Canada was left wide open in the slot and scored.
That goes to show. The Canadians learn how to skate before they can walk. Add to that a french accent ,some chauvinism, add some national pride and every Canadian on a skating rink becomes a devil in disguise.
Canada out skated and out played the US in the first period. US out skated and out played Canada in the second. And the third was pretty even. US certainly put on the pressure and were the aggressors in the OT, but Bennington was a brick wall in goal. He blocked 20 consecutive shots down the stretch to keep the US out of the net and bring the Canadians the victory. Very good game!
