Considering flying Frontier from Fla to Ny in Feb because Southwest does not
have any direct flights and no flights are under $200 pp one way. Frontier airlines had direct flights at too low to believe prices of $39 pp one way. After that you literally pay for every step you take.Pay for boarding, pay for seats, pay for luggage, pay for carryons, pay for assistance/inquiries,pay for check in. Sounds like a real nickel and dime that probably totals
out to the same $200 pp as Southwest..?? Anyone experience Frontier?? Charlie

Flew frontier often from TPA to MKE and back.

Take a small carryon that fits under the seat in front of you. This is your one personal. If you need more luggage, ship it to the hotel .

Check in early to pick a seat.

Dont pay for stuff you really don't need. Seriously, doesn't matter if you buy a "better" seat or not. Seats don't recline. The seat cushion is only 1/2" thick.

But you pay $39 for one way

It's a 0 frills airline just like Spirit and Allegiant. However usually on time, unlike Spirit or Allegiant

Frontier is the old Kimberly Clark paper company private airline that went consumer

The Admiral makes most of our travel arrangements. However, I restrict her to booking on the major carriers (American, JetBlue, Delta, United, etc.). I'm not sure you can travel that sort of distance (FL - NY) for that amount of money ($39), so you have to wonder . . . JMO

When the Admiral talks about saving money, I say "we should just stay home, that will save a ton".

If you take the flights without adding the frills, it's a helladeal. As soon as you buy anything, that is where the airline starts making money.

The low rates are seasonal and used to entice travel.

It's priced ala carte just like a new F150 on the lot. Base price ... Plus all the extras. Some people get the $34k pickup, some people add the extras to get the $95k pickup. With the same uncomfortable seats and slipping transmission

I fly a lot if I had to do it on a limited budget I would not do it. The lines, lack of perks and the biggest issue is the other people in coach.
