Hey GAR,
If you want to canoe, camp, fish, and swim, you really can't beat Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario. It's not near as far from you as it is from me and I used to go every rear.

The Moosehead Lake area in Maine is a nice place to go in the spring or summer. Summer is better the black flies will be gone after June. Plenty of rivers, lakes and streams to fish especially if you are a fly fisherman.
I have salmon fished the Bonnaventure River; Little Casipieda and the Grand Casipieda in Quebec and also fished the Mirimachi in Doaktown New Brunswick.

Lake Champlain in northern VT/NY has it all also. You can pack all your gear in your canoe and go. They have paddling trails on the water, and many free wilderness campsites along the lake. Great lake trout, salmon and smallie fishing also.
