Anyone else take their dog with on the boat?

Our dog Mochi loves to go out on the boat. We go to Charleston Lake in Ontario Canada three different weeks thru the year and the dog goes with each trip.

He's got to be right there when ever somebody gets a fish

He was kind of cramped on the 18' boat above, so we "splurged" and purchased a '24 Starcraft pontoon so he'd have more room.

As you can see, our greater swiss mountain dog is "pocket sized"

my boats are Tasha's boat also, Damon has not been yet.

Tasha's adopted friend, Tasha is much darker. he was going to the pound, and she decided to share her home.( both fixed).

At first they didn't like tower of power so I went to the trolling motor for a day. The next day the tower didn't bother either one.

We have 4 dogs.

I have a Basset Hound, Sherlock (He getsboat/car sick) He likes to go, he just has a weak stomach !!!!!!!

My wife has a Scottish Terrier Sassy (She does fine)

My oldest son, has a full size Collie, Shelby (He likes to go, and people like to pet him) He is a beautiful dog !!!!!

My youngest son has a toy poodle/maltese mix, Peachie (She likes to go)

We were told that here in Kansas, the dogs have to have a life jacket, not only on board, but they prefer, it on them at all times.

When the collie goes, he likes to rest his front paws on your arms, (you have to hold them out), when he gets tired. He swims well.

NONE of the dogs ever get into the water, without a leash on, so we can keep track of them.

Our dogs are special to us, and they are lazy, and spoiled completly rotten !!!!!!!!

Big Mama Cass does enjoy the boat.when she is not reading a good book, or taking a snooze in front of the fire or having a fine cigar.... she always has her life vest on when we shove off. Rules of the ship.

Yes I take the Labs (2 of them) and make them wear PFD's too. They love to swim but will get tired. The PFDs have handles on the back to help lift them back into the boat.

I m with you on takeing the the dog out, but they too can have a coranary issue, that we can never know about, so a life vest is always a must. that and other boaters hiting them.

We take our dogs, too. We have PFDs for them. The handles make it really easy to snatch them up.

it's not the same without them. the boat is stocked with tennis balls.

Spoken like a true dog owner.

I have one who is not fond of the water and tries to sit under my feet. The other doesn't care about the water and won't sit still, but keeps moving around the boat. Neither are real good in the boat so they stay home where they can lay on the bed and be comfy.

They react the same way in the car.

I know exactly what you mean, here's a picture of Mochi the very first time he was in a boat. We were trolling for pike, I stood up to stretch my legs and within 10 seconds he took over my seat.
