Re: Anyone actually catch a snakefish??
In Asia the snakehead is a sport fish and is also one of the favorite eating fish as they taste great and sold in every market. I have caught one when I was a very young boy, it gave up a big fight and they are quite toothie, no worse than pike or musky. I was using a night crawler for bait if I remember it right. To catch a hog I have seen guys using a baby duck with treble hook dangling from it feet. The line is ties to the duck and just let it swim around in the water. Pretty freaking cruel, I know! but it is an awesome sight to see the duck all of a sudden disappeared. I don't understand what is the big fuss about having them in our water. They are no worse then other predator fish, and I doubted if they are at the top of the food chain. About them being able to walk on land? that is a load of you know what. I have never seen or heard of it walk on land, although it is true that they can live out of the water for a much longer time than other fish. Go to China town in in N.Y city and look at a live one, restaurants have them in tank for made to order dishes, you would be able to tell that it not possible for them to walk.
