Nope, looks purty though. I would use it as a trailor for a jig. Let us know if it works. Don't know how it will work on your "illegal stripers." Heh heh just kidding

Where are you going? Maybe it would work weedless and weightless in the shallows. I wonder if the bass are still shallow. I haven't been able to find them there. Good luck

Yep, you fish it weightless over pads and grass mats, kinda like a scum frog. It will draw some strikes but difficult to set the hook, you got to count to three to give them time to eat it which I have a devil of a time doing. I like to rig mine with two hooks. Very popular bait around here for about the last three months.

Might be a better choice in the spring, but if they are in the shallows or grass, it should do the job. I know what ya mean trying to wait a few seconds, but it is important.

IS NOT TO STOP REELIN',, or slow down.. just keep reelin' as you were..

in other words,, just keep reelin' thru it..

the big problem is findin' um'..

It works! Fits perfectly on a 5/0 EWG gamakatsu offset, tex-posed (with the point just skin-hooked on the back); the hook passes 'tween her legs, no need to push it back thru the body of the lure. We were using the red hooks. Steady retrieve it comes across the surface like a buzz bait with a real nice gurgling sound, until it gets nailed.

Caught five nice bass Friday at Toledo Bend in very unlikely topwater conditions: about 40* temp, day after a cold front, & after a week of steady rain the water was up a couple feet and about the color of weak cafe au lait. 25-30mph winds kept us off the main lake so we fished a couple somewhat sheltered creeks. Some on white & a couple on watermelon/redflake, but the white seemed to be the preferred color. Added 4 more on worms later in the day.

Next time I'm putting a trailer hook on; those crazy bass kept biting the legs off the lure. I guess I should have given 'em a few seconds before the hookset, but dangit I just can't wait! Given their preference for froglegs, I thought maybe we got French largemouths instead of Florida. :)

Lubedude, we didn't have a temp sensor, but a local guide told us it was high 60's & that felt about right. Last few days we been having hi-30's low-40's overnight, up to 67 or so by afternoon. The wind kept us off the main lake so we were pounding the shorelines of some feeder creeks.

Born & raised in Louisiana. Laissez le bon temps roulez!

fatpratt, it might work on a jig - if you wanted lots of bulk and a very slow sink rate.

5, maybe 6 inches long, about 3" across. a lot of bulk for a soft plastic. doesn't float, but it don't drop like a rock either.

I found some at Academy sports, they say they can't keep 'em in stock. They also got 'em at a local tackle shop where I like to go (Barlow's in Richardson); not many stores like that around anymore though. BPS didn't have any last time I was there couple weeks ago. Here's an on-line catalogue that has 'em.

I fish this type of bait in the spring, (Anything that stays on the top, is weedless, and can be worked through the grass and pads), Anything from a pork frok with a weedless hook to a plastic worm rigged weightless. I have found that you can make a comotion, and then let it sit still for a few seconds. Seems then is when the strike comes. Although, sometimes they wont hit unless its moving. I like it though and will have some in my box this spring.

Re: Anybody tried this new Zoom lure? -- it works!

I just picked a few up at BPS yesterday. Can't wait to try them come next season.

One of the guys (worker) at BPS said they have been selling through them on a daily basis. Due to the positive publicity, I have a feeling a lot of fish will be seeing this lure sooner than later.

Kevin
