I have a 5.7gxi in a Campion allante 645 (23') about 4100 lbs dry. With a full tank of gas and 1 person in the boat I hit 53MPH on GPS. Last fall on my first run after buying it the speedo said 60, man was I stoked all winter, thinking I had a 60 MPH boat. Do you have the Duoprop?

I know its an old post but:

I know for a fact that I hit 60mph with my 20' bowrider last summer w/bimini up and one 200lbs passenger (stock prop)........but later, I was running against friend of mine with a stainless prop and same motor, but his boat was a cuddy V hull (same length). We were running neck and neck, around 58mph, then we went wide open, I was literally pulling on my buddy.

After the run my friend (who has a way more accurate GPS) said he was pushing 63+ at the top end....and he said I kept pulling.

No I dont have a DuoProp....Single Stock Prop..........Stainless soon!

I have a 21'8" bowrider that is around 4000 pounds.

It ran 54.5 mph on GPS will about 55 gallons of fuel, 2 adults and 2 kids.

I actually think I'm hitting the limiter but since the boat was new I haven't had a chance to do a lot of testing. More will come this year for sure.

Cheers.

How can you have a "more accurate GPS". GPS is GPS.

What pitch prop are you running? Most boats of that size would not be propped to make 60 mph.

Yes, the dream-o-meters tend to read about 10-12% high.

I was speaking to my sales rep who was selling the same boat to another guy and he asked me how fast mine went. He said he told the new owner 60 mph because that is what he'd seen but of course that was the speedo not GPS.

I worded that wrong, my Speedo read around that speed. I dont have a GPS..lol....his was reading 61+.

I dont know the pitch......but I know its a stock prop. Its hard to believe, but she is a factory freak, seriously. ;)
