anybody here from the barnegate nj area?

i am heading to loveladies from sept 22-oct 6 and am looking for a fishing guide. since i have never been there i was hoping someone might know where to go. i have a boat,gas,and food. just need some direction.

Wish I could help. Did a lot of fishing there, but over twenty years ago. Too poor for a boat back then, but caught lots of fish on head boats like the Miss Barnegate Light.

found a nice guy named kent madsden. runs wrong tern fishing charters. he is going to be my guide for 2 days while i am there. i was lucky to find someone willing to come on my boat.

I fished there this past season. Not much luck though. I hear sandy hook and the atlantic highland area is good.

I'm going down to Barnegate next week.......bringing my 14' with new 25hp. I guess I just look for a hole and start fishing!?

go to the point pleasent boat ramp, its the only free one on the bay, or you can pay 20bucks to launch it.
i fish the bay mostly renting skiffs and just tool around. also sail in it

I'm going to use the Lavalette ramp as thats where i'm staying but I hear they want $50 + $10 for a truck sticker!? Anyone here fish near there? Maybe PM me a spot to try(please?)?

I'm north of Flemington by Round Valley...........5 min. to the lake but never go there. I have salt in my blood. LOL I always go to Sandy Hook so this bay is all new to me.

haha, im near the river down by trentoin but we trek an hour to go to the raritan bay instead. I'm not to sure of the lavalette ramp but if thats for the season its seems reasonable.
i used to have a trailer sailer, but now i have a 33' sailboat.
(Also have a 12' skiff i use to fish =)

hey guys, sorry to hijack your thread but just wondering if you guys can answer a question i have ....
do you guys think a Sea hunt dual console ("escape" series) 20, or 22' can handle offshore rides in your area?

I wouldn't think twice about taking a 20 footer 5 miles offshore.......I've brought my 14' just past the hook in the ocean. I'm leaving in a few.....I'll be sure to post back how it was. Wish me luck!

I have a few questions before I can reply in full.
What are you you fishing for?
What size vessel?
Are any kids involved?
Catch and release or putting a few in the box?

This time of year the possibilities are many, tons of diffrent species in the Barnegate area. Bottom fishing, trolling,what ever you want, working the jetty on the north end of the inlet will bring you anything from striper to trigger fish. Got one in the surf on Monday.

you should be fine on calm days in the ocean
but honestly im more in the raritan bay and i use a 33' foot sailboat. quite frankly on a rough day i wouldnt be in the ocean in that small of the boat.
even my 33' takes a fair amount of water from the swells

I was at Somers Point last Saturday.Rented a skiff and me and 3 guys caught about 200 flounder,10 keepers South of the bridge,and drifted about 30 times with the tide coming in,and the wind blowing out to sea.Made for some good productive drifts.Don't for get the Akiles minnows,lol.Not sure of the spelling.Good luck.18"
