any way to prevent corrosion inside lights?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to prevent or at least slow down the corrosion process that takes place inside trailer lights. I have the so-called "submersible" tail lights with the seals around the lenses, but water still gets in. I'm wondering if a small amount of grease on the bulb base might work, or will that destroy the connection?
Thanks for the help.

I just buy new ones every couple of years. When there's a sale at Fleet Farm, I pick up a pair.

Seriously, you can solve the problem once and for all by buying a set of LED trailer lights. $50 and you're done. They work great.

i totally agree. one day i'll get around to it. you can also put guide ons on the trailer and mount them on the guide ons. i just cut a 2 inch PVC T and put on to of the guide on.
