My trailer has 5 lugs holding the wheels on, that's all I know about them. My trailer also has no spare tire. I was thinking today, my truck also has 5 lugs...and maybe I could use it's spare tire if I ever need to. Is there any way for me to tell exactly what the bolt pattern is without taking the wheel off?

yep measure from the center of a stud to the center of the hub and then multiply by two and that will give you size.
most trailers came out with a 450 bolt pattern which is a small ford bolt hole pattern.

Standard Production Trailers Only come in Two(2) Sizes.......

4 on 4... 4 bolts on 4 inch circle...
Or,
5 on 4 1/2... 5 bolts on 4 1/2" circle...

I Think rear wheel drive cars, built by Ford,+ Dodge use this pattern.....

Yep, the trailer hubs are only the two sizes, but don't let anyone confuse you about using Ford or Dodge truck wheels. They are 5 lug on a 5 1/2 pattern.

You should try to mount that Jeep spare on the trailer before you actually need it. It's possible that when mounted, the Jeep tire could be offset far enough to hit the fender.

on my old trailer, didn't have spare for it, carried an old donut with me the only time I used the trailer, same bolt pattern, 2 axel trailer so wasn't to concerned with it.

New trailer that I know I will have for a while, bought a brand spank'n new spare for it.

20 tires sitting in my driveway. good thing they last a while!

Yeah, I'm going to put it on and try it out, but I won't be moving the trailer until summer, and there's not enough room where it is to change the tire. Will there be any problem using a slightly different size tire, not having a differential in the trailer?

No problem for the use as a spare. Remember what a spaer is intended for, a replacement tire to either: 1. Get you shere you to to safety (maybe even the end of journey) or 2. To keep you rolling until you can get your orginal tire repaired/replaced.

In this situation, a different size for a short time will not hurt anything.
