I have a one owner classic! We bought this boat new and have completely restored this boat to above it's original condition! Installed a Diverter for directional jet drive. It has a 460 Cubic inch Ford motor with a top mounted starter! The engine has been completed rebuilt with speed components with less than 40 hours on it. The interior has been completely redone with a stereo system and a Bimini top!

I have since changed the steering wheel shown in the photos with the original wooden steering wheel that came with the boat.

I need to get some opinions of what this boat is worth. Going to try and sell this spring!

The hull was brought up to currant Coast Guard pleasure boat regulations by replacing the entire fuel system with approved components. The hull exterior and interior were also restored to original specifications to comply with the collectors item status of the boat.

The engine and jet drive have been rebuilt using better than original components which were all Coast Guard approved.

great looking old boat.... collector item,, no. You are looking for a special buyer,,, a rare one. It might be best to keep her in the family as the sentimental value~~~~~~~~~~~

While Carlson was a very well respected name in performance boats, Glastron popularized the name when they took over production. While very classy and performance oriented, the hull is not extremely rare nor extremely special. Thus, for a full restoration you would be looking for a Glastron enthusiast to buy it. You could ask what your restoration costs were plus a little for your labor but I doubt you would get that much unless you had an extremely motivated buyer who either does not want or can no do restorations himself.

Not sure what you have tied up in restoration costs, but if it's a fair amount, you should be happy to recoup those costs. Now if it was an old wooden Chris Craft it would be a different story. Those are collectors....

Looks like a real nice restoration.....

I doubt that the Ford engine would make any difference in it's value, especially for a jet drive. You might get a difference in value on a small-block vs big-block, but I can't see the "market" for these boats having enough demand for Ford vs Chevy vs Mopar to create a pricing difference.

I'd say the Carlson's might be collectors items at some point. They are rare enough that it could happen, although this particular model is probably one of the least-rare of the Carlson Glastrons. The Carlson CVX and Scimitar are far better prospects for classic/collectors' status.

Fwiw the CV19 was not produced in great numbers. And is in fact cherished by Glastron/Carlson enthusiasts. CV stands for "Carlson Vee" btw.

It's worth what somebody'll pay you for it, but I wouldn't set my sights too high.

I agree that the Scimitar is the one to own. Followed by the Intimidator.

But don't forget the "Classic" GT 150. The James Bond boat?

wow, nice looking boat and job well done. Without knowing what you have in it, I`m going to say you`d be pressed to make any return on your investment, unless as stated above the right person to purchase the boat doesn`t have the skills to restore but can certainly appreciate a good job. Im not familiar with this model and drive configuration, but I am when it comes to restoration of vehicles/vessels and I can say I`m in way more than what my boat is worth in todays market.

Good luck with the sale, you have a real nice boat there!:clap2:
