Any Value in 485 stuff?

Bought a Harbor Craft boat and it has the 485 Mercruiser drive system inclusing power assist steering. It all works good. ( The engine will need a new recovery tank). Is there any want for this kind of thing and if so where is the best place to try and sell it? Thanks

sure, there is lots of stuff. If the engine runs, you should be able to sell it. If you disassemble it you can part it out. The block, head, pan and especially the front covers and rotor (on the crankshaft) all are needed by 470 owners. Look at e-bay for "mercruiser 470 parts" to get an idea of what stuff is worth. Craigslist for 470 parts should get a response. The outdrive is the same as used by 4.3 Mercs, so should be able to sell that, price depends on condition.
