ask yourself what is the length of your trips, any overnighters camping, how many people and how much gear will you have. fishing or sports?
make a list of your needs and buy accordingly.

I REALLY like the Bayliner. I have a 195 with a 4.3L and it has the same Sport Seating set up. The bench in the rear really makes it so much more roomy!! It is SUPER clean too.

I prefer a bowrider 18-21' with a big outboard.. it really depends on how and where you will be using your boat.

Well, of the 4. I'd take the Glastron all the way. Wakeboard tower, 2008 model, swim platfrom, its the layout I prefer all the way. (I'm assuming $ is ok for you.)

The Bayliner...I like the V8, like the layout, HATE that there is yucky water sitting in the hull running TOWARDS the bow...means the guy doesn't even have the sense to tilt it up to allow the water to drain...could be ok, could be an indication of hidden probs.

However, if you can get the Bayliner for a good price, and it checks out, I'd be for it too. The extra 2 feet would be nice too!

FWIW we purchased a 2005 Bayliner 185 with the 4.3L Merc and we love it. I wish we had an extra foot or so in length - gets a touch tight with two families aboard - but the $9k I paid for mine was in our all-cash price range. Best of luck to you!

rbh - good points, I don't see us camping with the boat really, well from it - just taking it out on trips with our motorhome. You made some good points though.

dorelse - going to see, so far no bids on the Bayliner. NADA had it listed for about $10,000. I would agree though, so far the Glastron is in the lead, going to see how into negotiating they are.

strokeoluck - Congrats on the boat! If the Bayliner listed here was a bit more reasonable I'd be more into it, just seems priced very high. Still looking at others though.

The Regal owner got back to me, boat has 389 hours but looks amazingly well kept for its age. But the engine hours is a bit of a concern, at what point do these need some rebuild work - not sure there is a magic hour but 389 wasn't low in my mind. Other drawback was the trailer doesn't have brakes so that would be another expense plus the seating seems very tight in the back.
