Has anyone thought about setting out to the Caribbean? Obviously a larger boat would be necessary but has anyone on here done this? Not sure what size of boat you would want or the necessities but it's always good to dream. :D B.T.W. I took the pic in Turks and Caicos Islands and have since dreamed of going back in a boat.

I've read about people doing this on some of the sport boat forums. They run from Florida to Bimini. Most won't do it with anything smaller than a 27' and twin engines are prefered.

I would love to do it... if I had a boat that could.

I think about it alot and WILL someday! I think it would feel awesome to set out and go to some of best beaches with my own boat. Just the ability to go to different places and not worry about where you're going to stay would be the best. Not quite sure I would set out in my 26' cruiser though but from things I have read it wouldn't be completely out of the question........ if I had enough fuel!

aaaaahhhhh, Provo, Turks and Caicos Islands, Green Turtle Marina. Traveled there over a dozen times by boat. Can be a nice trip if well planned. The smallest boat I have ever taken that far is a 35 Sportfish, but then again we took an 18 to West End, Grand Bahama. I can't give any advice, but can give you some tips, hence the name SASTO.
