Re: Any Sailors in The Keys

How was your trip?
I'm planning a 6 week trip to the Keys in February/March of 2010.
How was the weather?
Any info you could share about what to bring what, not to bring, anchorages, and so forth would be greatly appreciated.

I see your from Ottawa, Canada, I live just north of Ottawa, IL in the U.S.

Thanks, Carl

Re: Any Sailors in The Keys

I want to take my boat down there sometime soon. However, there are a LOT of ways to sink your boat there, from what I understand.

I have a coastal cruiser with a retractable centerboard (Oday 20) and I've always lived in areas where its mostly sand bottoms. As such, I'm used to being able to just pull up the centerboard and beach it on islands. You get anywhere near a coral reef and try that and, well, you can imagine.

EDIT: Oops -- I didn't notice how old this thread was. Sorry for the unintentional necropost.

How did the trip go?
