howdy guys,

I haven't had a lot of time to devote to surfing the web these days, still no job but life keeps me busy, I have attended the last 2 years , and would like to make it 3 rd in a row if you catch my drift , just searched a little and didn't see where anyone had started to make some plans for the spring.

Calling all campers, what says you !

Look at some of the others in this forum. I'm trying to put something together for (tentatively) early June at St. Augustine in the Municipal Marina. Since Tasha's Daddy has passed away, NSBCraig has decided we (collectively) should carry on with the get-togethers. I nominate NSBCraig to carry the torch for now on...any seconds?

I believe Triumphrick was Bob's close second in command for the last event that I couldn't attend.
In any event, I'd love to have one put together this year...

You are right Triumphrick was the close second in command. I have been thinking about trying to start something myself. Looks like there are 3 in progress now Kevin, one down your way, one St Augustine and this possible central Florida. We will have to see what the future holds and see how many we can make. St Augustine is close enough to make a fast run down for a day trip to meet up and leave the boat at home and just enjoy the company of other iboat members. I guess I have 3 threads to keep up with now, things to look forward to.

Yeah I'd like to officially un-nominate me.

I will gladly help out someone as much as possible though.

My life is way to busy with running a business, the boat project, mountain biking etc.
(anybody coming to town for bike week? I've got friends bringing bikes and boats from Atlanta were gonna have a good time. Drop me a PM)

Not discounting TD's work, just getting it going was a big start, but I think some thought should go into improving on the concept.

TD was way to worried about trying to put together an event that pleased everybody, which only leads to the opposite.

I think we should think smaller and just put together times a group of us are going to meet up and everyone pitch in.

The St Augustine Marina party, Nettle's island, Disappearing Island etc are excellent examples.

Everyone posted lots of other places last year that would be great.

I think anyone that want's to do something and host other boaters in there area is much more the way to go.

Any ideas for something on this thread, I am keeping up with both of the others and planning on St Augustine for a weekend trip, just wondering if there was going to be something here or not. I do not know if I could attend or not, but I was also not sure of the last one at Crystal Island, in the end I did make that one.

I also ( back seat ) assisted on the steering committee for the last event

that resort at Crystal River was absolutely beautiful , my wife and I did a lot of running around planning and looking at places that were both camp, PET and boat firendly on nice sections of water, Crystal Isle was the best we found.

this place on the Suwanee River was a close second, but they were not as giving on pets as Crystal Isle, ramp and docks were a little sketchy but was also really nice to consider for a group gathering

if anything maybe we could just pick a weekend and wing it with out a huge organized event, the group / Rally rate we got last year was only a few dollars off the actual 1 night camping rate..... IIRC about $27 for a site with a dock, everyone could just toss something on the grill for breakfast and dinner, spend all day on the water like last time

while I would love to travel and meet fellow iboaters, St Aug is too far for me to drag the big pontoon, any place we pick would have to be pet friendly cause if my furry child can't go, neither can I

I guess if anyone is interested sound off and maybe we could start looking into dates, I haven't heard from triumph rick in a while

I am working on going to St Augustine in June, not sure I can make two of them this year but will keep an I on this and how things shake out for me. My wife was unemployed last year until the week before Thanksgiving, she is now working and making about half what the old job paid, at least she has a job, but new job means no vacation days to make long weekend with. St Augustine is a fairly easy drive for me to run down Friday night and return on Sunday afternoon. We shall see what happens.

I do get emails from Rick and see him on Facebook, I have seen a post somewhere fairly recently. I don't think he is as active as he was here.

I spent a few weekends at Chrystal River a few years ago. Lived in Bradenton Beach. Truely, a beautiful river and bay. The river is (crystal) clear with manatees and cane pole fishermen, fishing for mullett of all things. We caught seatrout in the bay.

I would be up for it. I can borrow a 17' CC that would be perfect for that area. My lady has never been in that part of FL and I'm sure she would love it.

My brother Branden and I would love to come. We were good friends with TashasDaddy. Both of us attended Crystal Island last spring and had a great time, and of course, we will be bringing Tasha if we are welcome.

I'm sure you will be welcome to join the get together if it gets put together. There are three in the works right now, this one and two over on the East coast, one in St Augustine the weekend of June 18 and another in the Jensen Beach area.

Of course you are welcome to come. Verify with St. Augustine Municipal Marina on the animal allowance. I would assume that it would be fine as they have a dog walk right at the top of the marina docks.

Here's a link to the June 18th get together...
