Any other remotes for a 7.5hp mercury

Hi there. I wondering if there are any other outboard remotes that i can use with my 7.5hp mercury? My mercontrol is very stiff and the warm up handle has a mind of it own.
Is it possible to get cables to fit my engine that would go into a honda remote, or is it possible to convert my cables?

Depends on the fact has it an eletric start or not, if electric start then be aware of the fact the cable movement is reversed for the clutch . if your remote cables have different cable ends there is a different cam in the remote then normal.

Yes it is an electric start model/remote. I just wondered if there was something that could simply buy off the shelf that would fit straight on to the standard cables that are already on the engine?
