Here is a small county lake not too far from my farm that I play on quite a bit when I want to water ski. Probably (my guess) a two mile run from end to end and leaving room to turn around with a skier and not getting too close to anything. There are usually maybe one or two boats on it on the weekends (maybe) and no one during the week.

Talking with the county conservation people they would like to promote it more and offered to set aside a week end this summer where I would have exclusive use of the lake, camping, etc. for myself and guests. (Close it to the general public for the weekend, not that it make much difference.) Still kicking around what the fee would be but I don't think it would be much.

Just wondering if there are boaters in my area that would be interested in something like a weekend get together sometime this summer on what would for all intents be a private lake.

That is a pretty long haul from St. Louis. I am open to the idea subject to date, weather and work schedule.

I have not monitored iboats much and am curious if there has often been gatherings that have good highway access; on bigger water and has other tourist action in its area (i.e. Lake of the Ozarks or Table Rock Lake / Branson area??)

Where is your private lake ? Anywhere near Mozingo ?

I would haul my rig to Table Rock (from Omaha).. That is a great lake to run on. Clean & LOTS of water ( GPS is probably a good idea). Fishing is slow due to clear water, but there are lots of things to do on land in the area. Perhaps a block of rooms at a mom & pop fishing resort ???

Yeah, that is a fair drive from St. Louis. As to the Lake of the Ozarks, I've crossed it off my list when it comes to weekends. No idea about Table Rock, haven't been there in years.
