I heard it is a 2 cycle type power plant, that resembles an outboard, and is externally mounted, but not configured traditionally. Source "should" be good, former employee that just retired, but he can't say more.

I also heard a bunch of the feedback from dealers, who are not pleased with the way this was all handled.
They are feeling jilted, left hanging, with inventory, upset owners, and nothing to tell potential buyers.

Me too. Dealers here have all their stock marked down, they must be pi$$ed at the way the rug was pulled out from under them. BRP will have to do a lot to regain trust.

I know of a personal friend / dealer that refused to sell the " ficht " motors back in the day.-----Said that he did not want them in the hands of loyal customers.----Lost his Evinrude dealer status.----Says that was best thing that happened.-----Correct ---Evinrude corporate policy cost them and the brand reputation dearly with many shops saying " no thanks " to them.----Will take time to recover.----Might be better to return the Johnson name to the market place.

Yeah, we had a couple of Johnsons back when we were growing up, they were very reliable. One of the most popular brands around here back then.

Out on the water you need simple stuff that is reliable.----Most new outboards are far more complicated than they need to be.-----Not much different than being up in the air.------I came across the Atlantic Ocean in a DC-7---4 Rolls Royce piston engines.-------There is no way you could get me into a modern jet with just 2 monster jet engines for the same trip.-----Never mind the computers that take over the flight controls in the blink of an eye.

From some pictures i saw online, it looks like the motor is under the back of the boat, submerged???? What could possibly go wrong? Also looks like they will be for boats specifically designed for that type of motor. Don't seem like a good plan either way to me, but what do I know!

Just look at some videos of the -----Haulover inlet.------You will see 45' + center consoles with 4 / 5 or even 6 outboard motors at 400 HP each.----If there is a market they will build it.
