According to my book, the pre-1987 120HP mercarbs had insufficient accelerator pump capacity and tend to bog out during acceleration. I have this problem. Does anyone with a 120 not have the problem? If so, what carb is on your boat? I want to get one that works!

That's discouraging, Moriah. I thought the 1987 carb would fix that! Do you have a Mercarb or Rochester? The bog problem in my book referred only to the Mercarb version.

Bruce, what carb do you have? The Rochester has 2 idle adjustment screws, the Mercarb has 1. Do you know what part number is on your carb? I'd like to try to find one that works.

Do you want to sell your carb!!! (Just kidding)
