Hey Everyone,

I'm hoping to get some advice from anyone here that's a boat owner. We're looking in to getting a Legend boat, specifically the 18" Xcalibur.
http://legendboats.com/en/view/boat/2011_18_xcalibur

The Barrie location quoted us $25,300 for the 18" Xcalibur boat with the accessories package + 115Hp 4-stroke Mercury + all fees (freight, PDI etc..). They didn't seem to want to budge on the price... The lowest they were willing to come down to was $25,000. We're never owned a boat before, but I was expecting a little more negotiation on their part.

Does anyone have any experience dealing with Legend or boat dealers in general. How much can I realistically expect them to come down in price?

Am I getting fleeced with the quote above or a decent deal?

For comparison, Bay Marine in Trenton quoted us $27, 600 for the Lund Tyee 1750 with a 115Hp Mercury incl. all fees. But that was just a phone quote and so I never really pushed them.

I'm located in Toronto, and so all figures above are in CDN. I don't mind driving down to the States to pickup a boat, but Tracker quality was pretty crappy when I saw it in person and so I'm not sure of another company that makes boats similar to the Legend in the link above.

Princecraft and Crestliner are out my price range as they start at 30K I believe.

Thanks in advance!

I purchased a new 18 Xcalibur with the 115 4 stroke in the spring of 2009 in Alberta and found that after many weeks of trying to negotiate the price down it just didn't happen. The best i could do was have the dealer throw in a few freebies as well as ongoing discounts for parts and oils etc. the only time i have seen discounts on legend boats on in the early fall when dealers unload their leftover inventory (sadly it never seemed to be the larger fish and play models).
Overall I am extremely happy with the boat however i will strongly advise you to put a 3 blade stainless prop onto this setup as it made all the difference in hole shot when pulling skiers, tubers and wake boarders etc...

I too checked out a 17' Ledgend at that location. The salesperson was very friendly and helpful, however wouldn't budge on the price. I ended up with a beautiful Sylvan from Sandy Cove Marine, right around the corner from the Ledgend dealership. I was able to negotiate a fair price on a superior boat (in my opinion). Might be worth checking out. PM me if you need any further details.
