Prop selector recommends a 9-3/8 X 12" prop for 13'-16' BOATS - LIGHT LOADS . So he's real close. I assume it's a Johnboat?

Hi,

I have a 14 foot v-hull boat with a 30HP 1980 Mariner standard shaft engine.

Originally, I had a 9 1/2 x 14 prop on the boat. After that prop got damaged I bought a 9 1/2 x 10 1/2 prop and the difference was amazing! The boat was much faster and responsive with the newer shorter-pitch prop and uses less fuel.

So basically, I've found the 10 1/2 inch pitch to be far better for this boat.

Usually I have about 3 to 5 people on board.

Hope this helps!

Dan
