Hello everyone, im new to the board, well im not new, I,ve lurked a few times:D I have a leak on the top of my fuel tank, right around the peremeter of the lable, I think I may have no choice but to cut the deck out from under my center console and replace the tank. its a 1998 sea pro 180cc, anyone have any experiance with doing this? I think my biggest problem will be trying to make the new deck strong enough to support my two trolloing motor batteries that I keep under there, thanks for any replies:D
So far I,ve lifed the CC and cut out a couple spots for investagation, then I found the leak around the lable

Heres the leak, is there anyway I could patch it?

Any fuel-resistant epoxy should do the trick. Just make sure you get it real clean and rough the application area first.

I believe that you could patch it in place. I would try to do so before I tried to pull the tank out anyway. As was mentioned earlier any fuel resistent epoxy should work or patch it with additional fiberglass cloth and resin covering the whole area. Even JB weld would likely work. I think you could get back to fishing pretty quick with any of these. Hope this helps.

Yeah, im leaning more towards patching it now, I haven,t decided what to use yet, maybe some type of epoxy but most of the ones I looked at don,t seem to work well on poly, also using a hot glue gun, I,ve heard of something called plastic welding and I,ve also heard that auto parts stores sell gas tank patch kits.
