I was just wondering if there were any dessert islands near the middle atlantic coast?
I know of a few islands like that right offshore from the Chesapeke bay, but that does not really count when you can see civilazation.
Someday I was thinking about getting a 60 ft sailboat, and doing that.

The north end of the Bahamas in the Abacos you will find many of them. They are closer to your home port. Our favorites are the Berry Islands, west of Bimini and south of Grand Bahama. Happy naked fishing and diving.

There are many places on and near the ICW where you can't see civilization. You may have to head south a little but they are there.
You won't need a 60 ft sailboat, either, just something big enough for you and whoever you take with you.
