glad we have pleanty of free ones on the lakes here. Most of the saltwater places charges 5 and up... and you pay all kinds of fee's, boat sticker, trailer tag, then charge you each time you use it, wait till they get the same way with cars, every trip will cost you just too get on the road.I guess as long as peole pay it they will keep charging it..

Most of the ramps around Rio Vista charges $10 except Brannan State Park which charge $14 the last I looked and that was last year. Freeport area at Garcia Bend off I-5 is $10-$12.

But by the time you tow your boat from Roseville to R.V. you've spent more on fuel.

paying $18 bucks a pop to test on the lake is getting old

Hogback island (maple grove area) is $10 nice quiet ramp not so busy but the dock looks unmentained.

Miller (broadway area) $8 2 docks but abit crowded at times with jetskies. Also your launcing and loading right on the river so there is current working against you.

Garcia bend (pocket area) $8 I don't like that place cars are known to get broken into.

You guys have to pay to launch your boat? There are no public ramps?

Technically yes we have to pay to launch. But you only get a ticket if your parked with no parking ticket. So you could launch the boat and leave and not have to pay.

yeah there is a free one at the broderick boat ramp. right off the "I" street bridge. if your coming from roseville take the 80- to the 5 get off on richards blvd. cross the "I" street bridge make the 2nd right off the bridge and you are there. lots of parking never too busy. good luck i take my 81' ski supreme there at least twice a week.

Out past Freeport Marina on the other side(across the draw bridge)& down stream a few miles there is a free ramp/parking lot its kind far from roseville and probably cost as much in gas as the 10 parking fee. Its kind of shallow too this time of year but I launched my 14ft alum fishing boat yesterday w/ no problems

It's California. It might as well be it's own country. The tree-hugging hippies get to ride horseback, hike and mtn bike while dictating what access is allowed (typically disallowed) for those that pay registration, taxes and fees to try and share the public land.

Try firing up a dirtbike or ATV. These are the same folks that brought us CARB.

The more I think about it, its not unlike us paying for a state parks pass. We don't have the large rivers like alot of you do but in order to enjoy the state lakes we have to buy a parks pass which includes parking and launch fees as well as some other facilities. We normally still have to pay for camping and its rare that we can camp anywhere near the water. There's only one lake I know of within 4 hours of Denver where we can camp on a sand beach and its in Nebraska which means buying another states park pass and camping fees, its all just part of the game.
