I'm a Minnesotan, and I just saw an episode of Due North Outdoors where they showcased a couple of old-timers that collect old outboards. These guys have a ton of early 1900's motors that they have restored. Eltos, Neptunes, Lockwoods, Evinrudes, Johnsons, Gailles, a really impressive collection. Len Painburn(sic) and Bob Peterson, these guys have restored literally hundreds of old outboards.

I'm tryin to find more info, but haven't had any luck yet.

Re: Antique Outboards!

I just went on an expedition yesterday that resulted in committing to buy about 15 old motors from the 1920s up to the 1950s. I gotta go back in October with a truck and my flatbed trailer to get 'em all.... more later...

I should add that I think these guys were from MN.

Anyway, it was really a sweet collection, wish I could find pics.

I have seen that clip a few times. they seem to be just like many of us would do with our time if we didnt have to work.

I doubt you would find much online about them, two retired guys tinkering in the basement b-Sing and all

Get yourself a copy of "The Old Outboard Book".
You'll love it.
