Antique boat show from the weekend

I stopped by an antique boat show at the lake where I live over the weekend and thought I'd post a couple pics that I snapped. Of course I didn't have my camera and couldn't stay long. So just a few shots of some great boats from my phone.

They sure don't build 'em like that any more. Can't beat an old woodie. Don't need no stinkin trim tabs or foils and they run on much less horsepower! We used to waterski behind a 25 and she'd pull a truck tube as well.

The show was at Lake St Louis Missouri which is where I live. There were several other real cool boats I really enjoy checking out the old woodies. The story behind the third pic in the first post of the woodie in the water with the guy in blue standing on the dock was it was originally built with just a front seat and an airplane engine took up the rest of the space from the seat to the back of the boat. It was built only for speed and only taken out one time. The owner was scared to ever take it out again. He sold the boat and the motor was replaced with a V8 and the back seat was put in since there was plenty of room left over pretty cool. Also what I thought was great was these guys spend a ton of time on these boats and most of them actually put them in the water and were offering to take folks out for a spin. Not just trailer and garage queens. I had 2 guys ask me to go out for a ride and I just didn't have the time. I would have loved to do that since I hear the ride in one of these things are great and the ones I heard running sounded awesome!
