Antifreeze Leaking Out intake

I ahave an 86 merc 170 with an alpha 1 drive. I pull the exchanger out for the winter because the drain was stripped when i got the boat. When I put the exchanger back in and filled the motor with antifreeze, it leaks slowly out of the lower unit intake. Any thoughts or suggestions ?

Are you sure you got the hoses on the aft end of the heat exchanger right? Fitting on the heat exchanger closest to the transom should have the hose from the exhaust riser going to it.
